Chakras and Colors

I was re-reading a newly received copy of the Sound & Color course (I had my original study materials soaked by Hurricane Katrina) Anyway, I made up a new set of color cards and noted the Chakra assignments to each color as well as other associations. Well today me the wife were discussing the color yellow and I thought I remembered reading that yellow was of the Sahasrara or Crown Chakra according to the BOTA materials so I mentioned it. She corrected me according to her knowledge that yellow was of the Manipura Chakra or solar plexus. Anyway, I “Googled” chakras and sure enough the color assignments are different. Here’s what I found:

Google BOTA

Sahsrara - Crown / Red-Violet Yellow

Anja - Third Eye / Indigo? Blue

Vishudda - Throat / Blue Green

Anahata - Heart / Green Orange

Manipura - Solar Plexus / Yellow Violet

Svadishthana - Sacral / Orange Red

Muladhara - Root / Red Blue-Violet

So what is the truth here? I am not interested in right or wrong. I would appreciate some help here as to why these color assignments differ. Any help would be appreciated.
