Re: Study Regimen

May 8th 2018 1:00:05 p.m.

Greetings Frater Jesse,Although they get more dog-eared than in a 3 ring binder, I do best putting lessons into spiral binders. This format allows folding them back to take less space on my lap. The special punch was a big initial investment and not all of the courses fit nicely into just one spiral (solved, by ‘part A’ ‘part B’ etc). Any file folder or or other cardboard folder can be cut along the spine to make a fairly durable cover. This is also an excellent system for piano music which has ...Continue Reading

For Frater Jesse and other new students.Save your lessons.  A personal suggestion.  Get a few sturdy 3 ring binders and a 3 ring hole puncher.  Put the lessons in order into the Binders.  You can also write on the colored cover of the lessonwhat Key is the major topic of that lesson.  As you progress through the lessons you will have several Binders and will easily be able to find or referrence information.Others may have similar suggestions also. *From:* "Je ...Continue Reading

You can also see which one(s) are speaking the loudest or not standing out as much. I will some times work on the one that I get the least charge from in order to build the connection. There is also the the option to review an old lesson that is related to the current lesson you are reading. I can not recommend this enough. This email may contain confidential and privileged personal information. Yes! Looking at the key is really important, thanks for adding that. At a retreat a Northeast Regional Retreat few years ago one of BOTA's ministers said that on a day when you can't do any other study, spread your keys out and look at them. LVXLynneOn Mon, May 7, 2018 at 4:35 PM, gregdous, via Builders (gregdous@yahoo.com) <builders@adytumbuilders.net> wrote: __ From: gregdous@yahoo.com Yes!   Read the most recent lesson everyday for a week a ...Continue Reading

Hi Jesse — I think the instructions are to read the first lesson in the envelope every day for a week and then move on to the second lesson for the second week, etc. In "real life" we all do the best we can to incorporate a daily practice of study and meditation into the rest of our lives. My own experience is that the lessons are very rich and that it isn't possible to completely absorb and process it from one reading. The more often I am able to read a lesson the more I get out ...Continue Reading

Or is it read one day then ruminate for the rest of the week? Any help here would be appreciated Jesse ...Continue Reading

Frater Steve, in my family, we share a tradition of planting a fruit tree in the grave above our deceased pets-- horses, cats, dogs, and a burrow,   Today we have a productive orchard, yielding delicious mulberries, apricots, and plums-- and one Christmas tree that is currently over 30 feet tall.  At my former apartment in Los Angeles an avocado tree celebrates my dog, Rollo's, life that he shared with me  over 12 years in that apartment and neighborhood.  L.V ...Continue Reading

Hi Steve — I add my condolences to this beautiful thread and will send you light in my meditations. I'm not sure what climate zone you are in but Rosemary is often used as a plant of remembrance. Where I live, Rosemary doesn't usually overwinter but I always have at least one in a pot in my house. The fragrance is beautiful and calming, sometimes just walking by the plant spreads the fragrance and sometimes I run my palms over the branches so the fragrance will come with me in whatever I a ...Continue Reading

Hi Steve, I haven’t yet looked at what you’ve received so far, but I have loved, lost, and buried dogs and cats. It is a big emptiness when the friend who was everywhere underfoot, on our lap, and in our home has to leave this plane. I have focused on what was special to that friend: a favorite spot in the garden, a tree that would have provided beloved shade, etc. I have tried to be very personal and individual about it always. That link was a good read Denise, I like her drawings as well.  Thanks Rick for the suggestions and the link, I'm going to look into those plants/trees, and I've never stumbled into that web-sight before, it looks good.  At first, the only plant I could think of that I could use was White Rose bush, since it's in the Death card and above the dog in The Fool card.-steve On Saturday, May 5, 2018, 4:15:09 p.m. CST, Rick Meisner, via Builders (meisner.rick@gmail.com) <builders@ady ...Continue Reading
